Another year has passed and its time to celebrate our mother’s for all that they do for us throughout our lives. For some, our mom’s have passed and a celebration for a specific person is not there anymore, but the beauty that a mother brings to her Childs life still resonates with me. It brings a smile to my face each year to be able to watch all of you celebrate your beautiful mother’s. Many of you will be heading out for brunch, or having the family gather at someone’s home. Whatever it is that you do, whether casual or dressed up, these Must Have Hairstyles For Mother’s Day 2018 are perfect for your special day.
Barettes & Bows
I love the idea of adding barrettes and bows to just about any hairstyle. It’s such a beautiful way to accent and accessorize even the simplest of do’s. Get creative if you choose to add an accessory to your hair. A ribbon can be made into a precious little bow, or headband, even as a simple way to tie up a ponytail. A barrette can be used to pull one side of the hair back, hold half of it up and away from the face, the options are really endless. Enjoy some of these ideas below.
The Perfect Blowout
Always a good option is either going to a salon and getting a blowout done, or simply doing one on yourself. A good bouncy blow-dry style always makes a classic statement. You can even go the day before and then touch it up on Mother’s Day with hot rollers or a curling iron. This will save you tons of time in the morning.
Lived In Waves
The complete opposite of taking the time to blowout your hair, is going with loose lived in waves. For many of us, the wash and go idea simply does not work, however you can mimic the idea of loose and lived in waves by creating them yourself. Allow your hair to dry naturally, this will encourage the natural texture to come out. After the hair has dried, use a large barrel iron and alternate the direction of the curls. Taking one away from the face and one towards the face. You will not need to curl every single piece of hair. The combination of the structured curls mixed with the natural texture of your hair will give it that perfect lived in effect. Here are some examples below.
Braids are here, have been here, and don’t look like they are going away any time soon. Which is great because braids also serve as a lovely way to decorate your hair. You can either create a braid that is the center focus of the hair, or create one accent braid for detail. The choice is yours. Braiding can definitely be intimidating, so search you tube for some tutorials and you will be well on your way to becoming a braiding expert.
Embrace Those Curls
One of my favorite Must Have Hairstyles For Mother’s Day 2018 is the idea of just embracing your curls. It breaks my heart that so many women with curly hair blow-dry it straight and flat iron it every single day. More often than not, this is because they can never quite get the curls to behave properly. Is this you?
Here’s a few quick tips, hydration, hydration, hydration. Your curls are thirsty, give them a glass of water by making sure to use haircare products that hydrate the hair. Apply your products while the hair is still quite wet, and use a styling product that hydrates and defines the curls, but still leaves them soft and touchable. If you have areas that no matter what the curls never forms, spot curl using a curling iron by wrapping the hair vertically around the iron. Going curly is a great option for those of you short on time the morning of Mother’s Day. Here are some curls that I was inspired by.
Slick It Back
For a super no fuss easy option, simply slick your hair back. You can do this with any length of hair, and tie it back, put it into a slick chignon, or even slick it back but keep it down. Utilize a part or direct it all back, the choice is yours. Be sure to use a high shine gel with holding power to get the dramatic results. I love this style because it looks like it takes so much time but literally takes minutes.
The Go To Ponytail
You can never go wrong in any situation with a perfect ponytail. I call it the “go-to” because you can wear it with anything. Pop in a few curls for detail and bounce or leave it super sleek and straight. No matter which way you go, a ponytail always looks fabulous. Best part, its easy to do and won’t take hours of your morning preparing. This is a great option especially if you are hosting the Mother’s Day celebration and time is just not on your side. Below are a couple of fun ponytails to try.
