Avoid Washing Your Hair After A Workout

Staying fit and working out for good health is a big priority for many of us right now.  Many of you work out every day, and sometimes squeezing in a quick workout isn’t possible because you would have to wash and style your hair and just wouldn’t have the extra time for that.  In this post, I’m sharing how to Avoid Having To Wash Your Hair After A Workout.  While showering after a workout is NOT optional, lol, Washing your hair definitely is.  I get asked this question a lot, and I posted about it in my instagram stories recently, but thought I would create a blog post so it has a place to live where you can refer back to if needed.

How To Wear Your Hair For Your Workout

First, it’s important to note that how you wear your hair for your workout plays an important role.  I typically wear a ponytail or very loose bun.  The reason for this is to avoid too much creasing on your middle and ends of your hair.  You will find this to be helpful as you will avoid having to spend too much time styling those areas of your hair and you can focus on the roots that get sweaty instead.

Steps To Avoid Having To Wash Your Hair After A Workout

Once your workout is complete, and after you have showered, you can take down your hair.  Next, follow these steps and your hair will feel like you just washed it and blew it out from scratch:

1.) Take your brush, and brush through your hair to release any tangles.

2.) After your hair is brushed, you can choose to use a Dry Shampoo Foam, or a Restyling Mist.  I use the Awapuhi Wild Ginger Dry Shampoo Foam and/or the Invisible Wear Boomerang Restyling Mist.  Both are linked HERE for you to take a look at.  Use one or both of these and apply the product only at the root area.  You will not have to apply to the areas that are dry.  I would avoid regular dry shampoo in the spray while the hair is wet, that is great to use once the hair is dry and you will notice that I actually do that as well. I use the Invisible Wear Blonde Dry Shampoo, and I will take some of that to my hair after it is actually dry.

3.). Once the product is applied, use a blowdryer and round brush to focus on the roots and dry only the root area.  A dryer that I have tested and find to be very user friendly is the Revlon One Step Hair Dryer & Volumizer.  It definitely makes drying your hair fast and easy.  I’ll link that HERE for you so you can take a closer look at it.

4.). After all of the root area is dry, brush through your hair to see if you need to focus on any other areas.  At this point, if your happy with the style you are done.  If you prefer to use a flat iron or curling iron to add curls or straighten it, you can do so.  I prefer a blown out look personally.  Sometimes I’ll add curls if I am going somewhere right after, but other than that just the two steps above is enough.

I promise you, this really is all you will have to do to Avoid Having To Wash Your Hair After A Workout.  I will say, that if you are doing Hot Yoga, or workouts that your entire head is wet from sweating, then you would likely have to start from scratch.  But, other than that, you should be good just following the steps above.

If you give this a try, let me know how it works for you!  Thanks for stopping by, hope this tip helps you guys.
