My Favorite Kitchen Essentials

Being stuck around the house during Covid-19 has definitely had me cooking a lot more than I typically do.  For me, when I'm organzing dinner for the family, it's all about "EASY".  The easier it is to throw together, the more likely I am to cook it.  That is what led me to purchasing one of My Favorite Kitchen Essentials, The Instant Pot.  Do you guys have one of these cool devices?  If not, I cannot share enough how much this one item has saved me so much time and energy when prepping dinners for the family.  I wanted to take some time and share with you which one I purchased, some dinner ideas that I have enjoyed preparing, and some Instant Pot cookbooks that are definitely a must have. Instant Pot Duo Evo Plus Pressure Cooker

When I finally decided to bite the bullet and get one of these highly talked about devices, I really wasn't sure which one to get.  After doing some research, I settled on the Instant Pot Duo Evo Plus.  I chose this one because I was interested in some of the advanced features that the less expensive models didn't provide.  For example, I was intrigued by the fact that you can make yogurt in it!!!  Though I haven't made it yet, I'm excited to be able to once I'm ready for it.  Pictured here is the one that I purchased.  I have the 10qt, but will likly purchase the mini at some point for extra pots to cook in.

What Can You Make In The Instant Pot

The options for meals is completely endless.  While I tend to have my favorite "easy" meals that are my go to options, you really can make almost anything in the Instant Pot.  One of my favorites is making Chili in the Instant Pot.  It literally takes 10 minutes to prepare and 15 minutes to cook and its completely done and piping hot.  Quite honestly, its also the best chili you will ever taste.

One of the things I love about it, is the Saute option, so that I can brown the meat and onions right there in the pot prior to adding the soup ingredients.  This is game changing for not dirtying a house full of dishes.  It's literally one pot of clean up and that is all.

When I got the Instant Pot, I wondered if it was going to be something I would actually use, or if it would sit and take up shelf space, but I have to say, I have actually used mine quite often.  My family really enjoys the meals we make in it, and the food always comes out delicious.  If you aren't already an owner of this cool kitchen essential, then I would definitely consider it, as it will make your life so much easier.

Do you already own the Instant Pot?  What are some of your favorite recipes?  Let me know in the comments below.
