The Perfect Ponytail

PONYTAIL PERFECTION | 101

A perfectly "un-perfect" ponytail is every woman's dream hairstyle.  Lets face it, it's a cool aesthetic, that takes maybe 5 minutes to complete.  There really isn't much you will need to complete this chic style, and really the less you fuss about it, the better it tends to look.  Lets take a look below at some recommended tools you will need and how to create this Under 5 Minutes Must Have!

MUST- HAVE'S

HOW-TO

1.)  For the first step, you can create this look on day old hair if you choose, but if your starting fresh, round brush blow-dry your hair.  This will give you extra bounce and fullness.  You can even round brush blow-dry your "not so fresh" hair with a little dry shampoo.  Just be sure to create a bit of volume and bounce.  You can also use a large 1 1/2 inch barrel iron to create some bend and bounce.

2.)  Next, section the front hair away from the back at the ears by creating a horseshoe section from ear to ear on top of your head.

3.)  In the back, start at the top and begin taking a 1 inch section.  Back comb the section at the root and spray with Awapuhi Wild Ginger Finishing Spray.  Continue working down the head repeating the process.  When finished, direct all of the hair back and use the comb to gently smooth a bit.  Try to avoid completely smoothing the hair, you still want a bit of a lived in feel.  Incorporate the front hair into the back.  We suggest using your fingers for this part to keep a not so perfect feel.

4.)  Take your Hair Tie and secure the hair into a ponytail.  Draw an imaginary line from your cheekbone to the back of your head, as this is most often a complementary place to set your ponytail.  If you want to add a not so simple hair tie, we love this Glitzy Pave Edged Studded Hair Tie

5.)  Take your Yumaki-Black Toothbrush and use it to brush around the front hairline.  Do this to create a slightly messy edgy look in front.

6.)  Rouge (Tease) your ponytail using only your fingers for extra fullness and set the style with your finishing spray.
